RATATAT- “PARTY WITH CHILDREN”

Ratatat is known for their “backwards guitar” sound and their creative percussion, and back when their self-titled studio album came out it was certainly revolutionary. Their new album LP4, which features the attached track: “Party With Children”, is a more organic spin to their usual routine with some african-esque percussive twists to their mellotron-madness. As a whole the arrangements are more inspired/inspiring and go places where previous ones haven’t. The engineering is on point all throughout, the only thing we could probably do without are those seemingly pointless vocal samples.

Another thing I don’t like about Ratatat is that all their songs have the same sound, same feeling.. they’re fire, but still it gets kinda old.

I somewhat agree with you, they have their own sound but the motifs and feelings really vary from song to song, especially different albums.
